West is an ICT service provider in the broadest sense of the term. Our core activities (services) consist of:

• Project-based Software development and integration paths, which involve using web technology to securely link intranet sites, legacy systems and back-office systems to web front-ends (in order to create web portals). We prefer to carry out these types of projects in our well-equipped software lab in Delft.
• Secure managed hosting (also as fall-back) based on state-of-the-art industry standards. This is done in our own hosting facility in Delft. We pay close attention to the security and availability of the applications that we host. We perform technical management and if necessary also functional management.
• Consultancy. We want to make the knowledge and experience we have gained over the years available to our clients. We can offer advice in the areas of security, software development and architecture (both at enterprise and software level); perform audits and code reviews; and provide training.

Examples of our services include:

• the highly reliable provision of GIS information on the web (Terabyte plus) via fast front-end processors;
• the monthly scanning of a national government organisation's website, which offers information to Dutch citizens, in order to identify errors;
• the testing of a new hardware/software platform that is aimed at facilitating the smooth flow of traffic in the Netherlands;
• the replication of a business-critical database that guarantees the institution in question will never lose more than 4 hours of information;
• the audit and optimisation of a business-critical Java application in a real-time environment with hundreds of users;
• research into alternative means of developing financial transactions (telebanking) via the Internet; and
• the provision of advice in the form of a workshop on the implementation of structured software development and the application of resources for software engineering.
